Offprint of pp.247-77. Small 8vo. 4 plates, 3 of them folding. Foxed, loose copy with closed tear and crease to first leaf. In original light-brown printed wraps, which have become detached.. Presentation copy, with inscription to 'Mr. Edward Lynam from the writer' on front wrap. Manuscript annotation in pencil, presumably by Lynam.

Docketed at foot in pencil.

One of the editors of the Dictionary of National Biography (born 1882). The recipient (1886-1957) was a noted archaeologist. Two pages, 12mo. In poor condition: creased, grubby, worn, stained and repaired. Weaver has just been reading Crawford's 'extremely interesting autobiography with its most original title' ('Said and done.

English writer (1866-1945). The letter is 2 pages, 8vo, and the notes are 9 pages octavo. Neatly written on one side each of eleven matching leaves, all ruled with blue lines. In good condition overall, but with the paper somewhat discoloured, creased and ruckled, and with some rust stains from a paper clip and closed tears. He is sending as promised 'the evidence of the bishop's mitre having come down to us from very ancient times'.

Archaeologist and President of Oscott College (1821-1907). 5pp. total, 8vo. (1868) He asks for further information about Raoul Rochetti's lectures or writings on Christian art. He would like to read them before writing the relevant chapter "in my forthcoming analysis of De Rossi's Roma Sotterranea" (catacombs- published 1869). (1871) He asks for some favours, firstly for a rubbing of some early writing ("Ur of the Chaldees") and information about an Egyptian statue for a friend researching the Shepherd King Dynasty. He encloses a sketch (present).
