Printed handbill, with manuscript additions, headed 'Clifton College. Rules, &c.' By 'J. Percival, Head Master.'
Printed on one side of a piece of wove paper, 20 x 12.5 cm. Good, on aged paper, with remains of mount adhering to the reverse. Seven rules are given, the first being that 'No boy shall enter or return to the College from a house, in which there has been any infectious disease within the three preceding months, without giving previous notice, and obtaining permission.' In addition to several underlinings, the manuscript additions consist of two notes: the first being the comment 'This note must be dated' beside the rule that a note from the parents is required by boys leaving the bounds of the school, and the second, beside a rule concerning a note required for Saturday absence, that 'In the case of boarders this also must be countersigned by the Headmaster but not in the case of day boys'. Signed in type at the foot by Percival. From the album of Rev. William Done Bushell (1838-1917).
