Some Notes and Remarks on Moore's Corunna Campaign up to the retreat from Sahagun.
Folio bifolium (leaf dimensions 34 x 21.5 cm): 4 pp. Unbound bifolium. Text clear and complete on lightly-aged and creased paper. One correction to text in red pencil. In small type. Begins: 'The special period for the approaching examination for promotion being the campaign under Sir John Moore leading to Corunna, I have lately occupied myself with examining the works of some of the different authorities and critics of this deeply interesting operation of war. | I should wish at the commencement to deprecate any severe criticism on this short lecture, if I may diginify it by such a name, by stating that I have merely written because I imagine that there are some officers presenting themselves for this examination who have not the time to do more than study the plain bald facts as set forth perhaps in one text book, and, therefore, are not fully conversant with the large amount of controversy that has raged for a long period round the Corunna campaign and its great leader.'
